Edward Angelo Mangone, 76, of Lee's Summit, MO, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055, where a Memorial Mass will begin at 12 p.m. Contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137.

Edward was born November 30, 1937, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Mary (DeMao) Mangone. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Europe. It was during that time he met his wife, Sheila, in London. They married in 1958. Edward was CEO and President of Citizens Jackson County Bank (Hillcrest Bank) before retiring in 1996, and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Blue Springs, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Stephen Anthony Mangone; and his siblings, Dominic and Frank Mangone, Elizabeth Magliocco, and Madeline Girard.

Survivors include his wife of almost 56 years, Sheila Mangone; his children, Sharon Pflughaupt (Phil), and Courtney Mangone; grandchildren, Zachary Edward Pflughaupt and Kate Alexandra Pflughaupt; brothers, Tom and Joe Mangone; sister, Jaye Costantino; and close friends, David Butler, Claudia and Jerry Jones, and Pam Mullin.
