Elizabeth R. Malick, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at St. Mark's Church, followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice.
Liz was born June 1, 1935, in Kansas City, MO. She attended Holy Rosary School and St. Aloysius Academy. On September 28, 1957, she married Thomas Malick. Liz owned Liz's Catering & Party Services for many years and later volunteered at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. She served as an election judge and supervisory election judge in Jackson Co., MO for over 15 years, and was active with the St. Joseph Table at Holy Cross Parish.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Malick, in 2000; her parents, Frank and Rose DeSimone; and her in-laws, Paul and Anna Malick. She is survived by her children, Paul Malick (Susan), Frank Malick, Stephen Malick, Roseanna Dillon (Steve); grandchildren, Benjamin Malick (Shelby), Laura Malick, Nicholas Malick (Sheryl), Michael Malick, Gregory Dillon, Kristina Sims (John), Raechel Dillon; and great-grandchildren, Payton Jackson, Hank Malick, Wade Malick, and Bryson Sims.
