Elizabeth Rose (Cascio) Smiroldo, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018. Visitation will be 9 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE Anderson Lane, Lee's Summit, MO 64064.
Elizabeth was born January 11, 1923, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Vito and Rose (Moley) Cascio. She was known for her elegance and grace. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose love for her family was present in all that she did.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Santo "Junior" Smiroldo, in 2007; her son-in-law, Robert Rengel; her brother Ben Cascio and wife Marie; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom Smiroldo, Marguerite and Ben Salpietro, Marie and Jim Licari; Sam Cicero; and great-great-grandchild, Kennedy Butrum.
Survivors include her children, Mary Louise Rengel, Frank Smiroldo and wife Mona, Vicki Zuber and husband Steve Salmon; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ross Cascio and wife Clarene; sister-in-law, Bernice Smiroldo; Rosalie Cicero; Joe and Louise Macaluso; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Steve Coppinger, Colby Owen, Corey Owen, Frank J. Smiroldo, David Stacy, Andy Zuber.
Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Binkley and Blake Butrum.
