Obituary

Elvira Celeste Baum Migliazzo, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017.
Elvira was born on January 10, 1919 to R. Frank Baum and Elvira Guidici Baum in Kansas City, Missouri. Elvira graduated from Northeast High School and married Carl Migliazzo in 1938. Together they raised four sons and a daughter. Elvira was a homemaker who loved to entertain friends and family. Their home was always a gathering place and many enjoyed her delicious meals prepared with love. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity for over 50 years, Lady of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, parent volunteer at St. Elizabeth's School, Maur Hill Prep School and Notre Dame de Sion School. An avid bridge player, she was a member of many bridge groups. She was always on the go and enjoyed traveling. She made beautiful cross stitch and appliquéd quilts, as well as baby blankets for every new baby in the family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carl and grandson, Carl Philip Migliazzo, siblings, Frances DiGiovanni, Hester Brelsford, Virginia Giaraffa and Robert F. Baum. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Connie Marlo and Bernice Migliazzo, children Salvatore C. "Sam" (MyRae), R. Frank (Jeri), Ralph (Janet), Marc (Becky) and Celeste Greenlee (Brian), grandchildren John Migliazzo (Linda), Matt Migliazzo (Marisue), Brett Stafford (Cassie), Matt Stafford (Marti), Andrew Stafford (Amy), Tony Migliazzo (Sarah), Carla Hasegawa (Kimo), Kim Fowler, Tony Moulton (Pam), Bridget Gonzalez (Carlos), Anthony Migliazzo (Meredith), Joshua Migliazzo (Sophie), Jacob Migliazzo (Kate), Nicole Holloway (Travis), Paige Roy (Brian), Gabbie Greenlee, 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of The Atriums and Kansas City Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the scholarship fund at Maur Hill Prep School, 1000 Green St., Atchison, KS 66002 or Notre Dame de Sion School, 10631 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114.
