Emanuela "Lena" DiCapo, 93, was called home to heaven on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Lena was born April 28, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. She was a homemaker and, with her husband, also operated Frank's Café in the East Bottoms in the 1950's. Lena loved to cook and bake. Her cookie jar was always filled with biscotti to serve her visitors. She loved to be surrounded by family, especially her daughters or "her girls" as she called them. The greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Frank DiCapo; parents, John and Salvatrice Mistretta; sons-in-law, Benny Inzerillo and John Barelli; and sister, Ann Travalent.

She is survived by her children, Joann Barelli, Sylvia Inzerillo, Mary and husband Dr. Ross Sciara; grandchildren and spouses, Gina and Vince LanFranca, Leann and Henry Martinez, Carl and Mary Kay Barelli, Frank Barelli, Lisa and Mark Badalucco, Andrew and Robyn Inzerillo, Angela and Joseph Accurso, Joseph M. Sciara, Frank Sciara and fiancée Tammy Froeschner; 15 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Louis Monaco; and brother, Marion Mistretta.
