Eugene F. "Gene" Keegan, 98, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025. Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Burial with Military Honors will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Kansas City Hospice; St. Anthony's Catholic Church; or to the charity of donor's choice.

Eugene was born December 10, 1926, in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Lillis High School. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy as a Radarman Second Class. After the war, Eugene returned to the Kansas City area and married Carol Woods. They were happily married and lived in the Northeast area of Kansas City for the next 53 years before Carol's passing in 2017. Eugene worked for the Jackson County, MO government for the majority of his life and held various other positions after he retired.

Eugene, "Gene", was a devoted Catholic and was a proud member of Cardinal Glennon Council #4613 of the Knights of Columbus where he served the St. Anthony Community. He was also a proud member of VFW Post #9997 and the American Legion. Eugene was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, attending many games throughout their seasons. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and had a quick-witted sense of humor. Eugene was a quiet, charitable, humble man who lived simply serving others during his decades on earth. He truly was a servant of God. Eugene was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Keegan (Kohler); his wife Carol Keegan (Woods) and her daughter Gayle Lynn Niccoli; their son Michael Alan Keegan; brother Donald Ralph Keegan; and sister Mary Catherine Keegan. Survivors include his sister-in-law Mary Ann Keegan (Yuelkenbeck); nephew Don Keegan; nieces Janice Plum, Linda Pickert, and Tammy Amendola; and many friends from his Northeast community.
