Maria Eutimia M. Carrizales, age 102, Kansas City, MO, formerly of Pearsall, TX, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, February 27, 2015, in El Dorado, KS, where she was staying with her son and his wife.

Eutimia was born in Salamanca, Mexico on December 25, 1912. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosario Vargas and Mauro Medina; husband, Benito Ortiz; second husband, Pedro Carrizales; son, Valentine Ortiz; sisters, Lorenza, Elfida, Gregoria, Isidra, Tomasa, Paula, Juanita; brothers, Pedro, Martin, Samuel; and seven grandchildren.

Eutimia is survived by her daughters, Marcelina Aguilar of Sacramento, CA, Celia Meza and husband Jesus of Kansas City, MO; and her son, Pablo Ortiz and wife Nancy of Cassoday, KS. She was loved and cherished by her thirty grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. At the time of her death there were five generations who loved visiting with their Abuelita (grandmother). Every birthday, which was on Christmas Day, was a celebration of music, tamales and familia. She is greatly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1029 Bennington Ave., Kansas City, MO 64126.
