Ferdinand "Ferdie" Shore, 86, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, August 3, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Interment with Military Honors will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
Ferdie was born November 5, 1927, in Belleville, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a detective on the Kansas City, MO Police Department until retiring in 1975. He held a commercial pilot license and an 80 gross-tons river license. Besides many hobbies he became a master wood craftsman. Grandfather clocks and cabinets were some of his specialties.
Ferdie is survived by his children, Scott Shore (Debbie), Margy Ladera (Richard), Stephanie Armato, Janet Flack (James), Lisa Garza (Tim Alvarez); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, George Shore (Janet); and many nieces and nephews.
