Filippo Guarino, 84, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Funeral Home with entombment following at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Filippo was born April 9, 1930, in Castelvetrano, Sicily, and came to Kansas City in 1967. He worked for Dasta Construction Co. for many years, and loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with this family. He was a member of the American Sons of Columbus where he enjoyed playing cards and bocce.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Guarino; his children and their spouses, Caterina and Antonio Carollo, Joseph and Trish Guarino, Benny and Angelia Guarino; grandchildren, Christina and Matt Hocker, Daniella and David Herrington, Vincent Carollo, Philip Guarino, Joseph Guarino Jr.; five great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Maria Mistretta, Caterina and Vito Bianco; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Rosetta Guarino, Giuseppe and Isabella Guarino; and many nieces and nephews.
