Fiona was born March 7, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. At an early age she was diagnosed with Ohtahara syndrome, an extremely rare and incurable neurological disorder. Fiona smiled all the time in spite of her medical problems and pain, and brought joy and love to those whose lives she touched. She has always been, and continues to be, our guardian angel.
Fiona is survived by her loving mother, Josephine Marsala; her grandparents, Salvatore "Sam" and Linda Marsala; uncles and aunt, Eric and Brooke Marsala, Sal Marsala; cousins, Gabriella, Sofia, and Sienna; and great-grandmother, Josephine Guerra Odle.
The family offers a heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Kansas City Hospice, Infant Toddlers in Kansas, Children's Mercy Hospital, and Maxim Nursing Staff.
"The measure of life, after all, is not it's duration but its donation."
