Floyd Joseph Peterson, 73, passed away September 24, 2023.

Floyd was born May 15, 1950, in Costa Mesa, California, to the late Floyd Charles and Veronica Violet Peterson. He was a 1968 graduate of Canoga Park High School, and attended Pierce College where he played football. He was trained as a carpenter and spent 30 years in the trade, specializing in acoustical ceilings. Floyd coached football and wrestling for nearly 30 years, where he mentored, motivated,  and inspired hundreds of young athletes at the Pop Warner, high school, and collegiate levels. He was also an avid deep-sea fisherman and enjoyed woodworking.

Floyd held a deep love for his family and his beloved dog LaLa.  He was most proud of being a dad to his son Kris and papa to his five grandchildren.  He was very excited about his new blessings and anxiously awaiting the birth of his twin grandchildren.

Survivors include his son Kristofor Peterson (Nicole Peterson); grandchildren AnnaBella, Kolsen, Giavonna, Madonna, and Kingston Peterson; brother Bill Peterson (Gina Peterson); sister Kathleen Fitzpatrick (Rick Peterson); and a niece and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2nd, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1104 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64118.
