Francesca Marie (Miceli) Hendrix was born on February 23, 1925, in Kansas City, MO, to Salvatore and Maria Stella (Federico) Miceli. Frances passed away on May 28, 2016, with her family by her side.

Frances graduated from Northeast High School and was awarded a four-year scholarship to Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She married Edgar Hendrix, Jr., on January 4, 1947, following his naval service in WWII, and they were married for 62 years until his death in 2009. Three daughters were born of this marriage: Janet Elrod (husband Dr. Jerald Elrod), Madelyn Bowden (husband Dennis Bowden "J.D." (deceased), and Lee Ann Lickteig (husband Dale Lickteig). Frances is also survived by her seven granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and her sister, Lucille Octavio. Her brother, Carl Miceli, preceded her in death.

Mom was our matriarch, so gracious and elegant. She was a fantastic cook who enjoyed entertaining, planting flowers by the pool, sewing, crafting, and dancing with Ed. She retired from Butler Manufacturing and throughout her life served her church, her children's activities, and her civic duties at election time.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Catholic Community Hospice, who helped guide us through our spiritual and loving journey.
