Obituary

Frances Maucelli, "Fra", 71 of Kansas City, MO, passed away March 12, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Cremation will follow.
Frances was born August 22, 1946, in Kansas City, MO. She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Northeast High School. She worked at Armco Steel, Wilcox Electronics, Jenny's Italian Restaurant, Nicky's Restaurant, Applause Video and The Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters until she retired in 2002. Frances loved movies, traveling and going to the casino's. She was an avid fan of John Wayne and Lucille Ball. Frances lived her life the way she wanted to, she lived for today, she was her own boss and no one could tell her what to do. She was a devoted, loving and caring mother to her two children, whom she would have done anything in the world for and provided them with everything they wanted. She was their biggest fan and fierce protector. Having grandchildren brought her so much joy and happiness, she would say they were her heart. Frances loved to cook, she didn't know how to cook for just a few people, and if you left her house hungry, that was on you. She loved her pets and she donated to the ASPCA monthly as well as St. Jude. She would go without before she would stop donating to those organizations. She had HSN and QVC on speed dial and they knew her when she called to place an order. Everyone who met her became an instant friend, she didn't know a stranger and once she met you, you were part of her life. Not only did she raise her two children, she also "adopted" many of their friends and treated them as her own and loved them just the same. She enjoyed a house full of family and friends and loved spending time with them especially on the holidays. Frances was diagnosed with MS in 1995 and vowed it would not stop her from living her life and she refused to be in a wheelchair, she was a fighter and a survivor.
Frances was preceded in death by her father Sam Maucelli; her mother Mary (Armato) Maucelli; brother Anthony Maucelli; sister Roseanne Maucelli; and Kay Joseph who was more like a sister than an aunt. She is survived by her son Albert Robertson and his girlfriend Jessie Cantrell-Vorndran; her daughter Mary Moore and husband George "Les" Moore; her grandchildren Michelle Robertson, Eric Robertson, Joey Moore and Francesca Robertson; brothers Natale Maucelli and wife Misty, and Mario Maucelli; and sister Toni Maucelli and husband Carlos. Also surviving are Ronnie Joseph and his wife Kristina and their children Connor and Adrianah, Sherry Shafer and Tommy Agrusa, Mike Nigro, Liz Gardner, Ginni Bartosh, Michael and Mark Spero, and so many other wonderful people she had in her life whom she loved dearly; her oldest and dearest friends, her dumati: Regina Pricer, Vickie Carullo, and Theresa Spero, who shared many great times with her; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Frances will always be remembered for her kindness, loving heart, compassion, her laughter and silliness and all of her crazy antics, but most of all for the truly most unconditional love she gave her children and her family, she will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
