Frank "Black" Marsalla, 85, Kansas City, MO, passed away comfortably at his home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, surrounded by family, friends and hospice. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. Friday, November 1, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice of Kansas City.
Frank was born March 5, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to Fortunato and Filomena (Abbolitto) Marsalla. He grew up in the Columbus Park area and remained a lifelong resident of Northeast. He was a successful business and property owner. He also worked for the City of Kansas City, MO as an electrical inspector, and was a 60 year member of the IBEW Local 124.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete and Sal; sister, Mary; son, Michael; grandson, Frankie; and great-granddaughter, Fiona. He is survived by his former wife, Barbara; six children; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
