Frank M. Sorrentino, 97, passed away peacefully at NorthCare Hospice House on June 5, 2018. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Family & Friends will gather on Monday, June 11, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Hwy 9, Kansas City, MO 64152, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Frank was born July 9, 1920, in Kansas City, MO, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a combat medic. He owned and operated Frank's Produce in the City Market for 11 years and was known as "Mr. Wolferman", selling only top of the line fruits and vegetables. He also owned Shawnee Fruit Bazaar.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Josephine (Battaglia) Sorrentino; his parents, Sam and Margherita (DeLuca) Sorrentino; and all his siblings.
Survivors include his daughter Margie (Mike); son Paul (Cissy); grandchildren Angela, Gina (Derek), Michael, Jessica (Cam), Jennifer, Melissa, and Charles; seven great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Frances Battaglia.
Pallbearers: Michael Freeman, Dominic Freeman, Dillon Johnston, Derek Duke, John Baccala, Cam Love.
