Frank "Ted" Weis, 93, passed away January 19, 2014. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Frank was born in Kingfisher, OK, to George and Edith Weis who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of East High School in Kansas City and the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant (jg). After serving in the Navy, he went to work for the Kansas City, MO Water Department. Frank was currently employed by Smith & Loveless in Lenexa, KS, and had worked there for 60 years. Frank was a sports enthusiast and spent many years coaching young people in baseball and basketball.
Frank was preceded in death by a brother, George E. Weis.
Frank is survived by his wife of 70 years, Audrey Weis; sons, Ted and Gary Weis; daughter, Kathleen Bartolazzi; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
