It is with profound sadness that the family of Fred Costanza announce his peaceful passing on April 25, 2023, at his home in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 76. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Passantino Bros. Fred married his high school sweetheart Phyllis, and they shared their life together for 58 years. Professionally Fred served with the Independence Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff's Department, achieving the rank of Corporal. Fred went on to work for Yellow Freight for 26 years and retired as a proud member of Teamsters Local 41.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother Josephine and father Andy Costanza; his in-laws Rose and Joe Barba; his brothers Joe, Angelo Jr. and Gene (Babe) Costanza; and his sister-in-law Patty Bloemker.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis; sons Joe and John; daughters-in-law Sheila and Nicky; his three grandsons Sam, Franco and Vito; his twin brother Leo; sisters-in-law Linda Odell and Flora Costanza; brother-in-law William Bloemker; and his godson Tony Merlo. He is also survived by numerous loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Fred loved fishing at the lake, music, coaching both his sons baseball teams, and riding around in his convertible Mustang. He loved attending his grandson's school and sporting events. By far Fred's greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandsons. Those who knew Fred will miss his humor, kindness and smile.
