It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gary Jay Box. Born on January 14, 1959, in Independence, Missouri. Gary dedicated 35 years of his life to Antioch Amoco as a mechanic, followed by 10 years at Vic Austin Motorway before his retirement. As a young man, he took great pride in his time as an Eagle Scout with Troop 228 in Independence, Missouri. Above all, Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse D. Box in 2003, Barbara Box in 2005 and his nephew Jason Gooch in 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Helena (Penny) Box of 42 years, his son, Christopher Box (Kristina), his stepdaughter, Tina, five grandchildren, Curtis Jr, Jessica, Megan, Emily and Jake and five great-grandchildren, his sister, Wanda Gooch (Mark), niece Christen (Tony) and 4 great nieces and his brother, Daniel Box from Long Beach, California.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.
