Obituary

Gary was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri on April 7, 1943, to Kurt and Mary (King) Coleman. He graduated from Northeast High School and briefly attended Central Missouri State University on an athletic scholarship. He worked in Kansas City and Houston, Texas as a grain merchandizer for the USDA and later as a regional talent scout for the Kansas City Royals under Carl Blando. Gary was a sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed baseball, golf, March Madness, and watching his children and grandchildren excel in sports. He was an animal lover and found his best friend through rescue. He had a wicked sense of humor and shared it with a wide group of friends. He was especially fond of taking bus trips with friends and very early morning coffee gatherings at the Hy-Vee.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Kurt and Mary Coleman; brother Michael Coleman; wife Rhonda Buell Coleman; and son Matthew Coleman.

He is survived by daughters Lisa (Mary) Coleman, Kerri (Roby) Anderson, Toni Ann (Pat) Fagan; daughter-in-law Nina Coleman; longtime companion Linda LaSalle; grandchildren Katie, Emily, Ellary, Garrett, Ava, and Sophia; sister Paula (Bruce) Dotzler; and his best four-legged friend Gabby.

Gary battled bravely to the end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
