Genevia Mays
Tucker
Apr 18, 1950 — Mar 8, 2023
Sister Genevia Tucker was born in Tunica, Mississippi on April 18, 1950 to the union of Rosie Mays and Leroy Mays. Both parents and siblings, sisters Delores Bell and Jessis Mae Jones, and brothers Eddie Ray Jones and Willie Mays, precede her in death. Genevia's husband, Elder McGee, also precedes her in death.
Genevia was the second of nine children. She attended and graduated from Harrison High School and continued her education at Wrights Business College and Modeling School.
Genevia accepted Christ at a young age and attended Fizer Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Elder JB Fizer in Chicago, Illinois, and became a Missionary.
She married Elder McGee and moved to Kansas City in 1986 and opened her own restaurant business. She also was an elementary school teacher at La Petite Academy. Later in life, Genevia went on to help out a friend at Ultra Wash where she retired. She faithfully served the Lord until she transitioned to Heaven on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
Genevia leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Randolph Mays (Petey); four sisters Betty King, Velma Thurman (Donald), Barbara Jackson, and Annie Jones. Genevia also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; and her loving dog Bellhop; with a special mention of Charles Wilson.
Genevia was a very loving person always willing to lend a helping hand. She truly loved the Lord, and loved to listen to her gospel music and talk about God.
