George Joseph DeLisio, Jr., 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed on February 1, 2026, surrounded by family.

George was born on January 25, 1938, to George and Helen (Saia) DeLisio. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Northeast High School in 1956. He was drafted into the Army in February 1961 and served six months until he was discharged on a hardship to return home to care for his mother and two minor siblings. George remained on reserve duty until 1966.

George married Rose Stowers, the love of his life, on December 11, 1965, and they were married for 60 years. They had five children. George and Rose renewed their vows in December 2025, in celebration of their 60th anniversary. George was employed by Anheuser Busch and retired after 25 years of service. He was top salesman for many of those years. George was a loyal and true friend and remained close with many of his childhood friends, most lasting a lifetime.

Family was the most important thing to George. He was devoted to his wife and children, as well as his extended family. His humor was second to none. He always had a joke to tell, and he loved to make people laugh. George loved to travel and had the pleasure of experiencing several international trips. He was a member of the American Sons of Columbus and an avid bocce player on mixed leagues for many years. He was involved in scouting when his sons were young and was a member of The Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

George was preceded in death by his father George; his mother Helen; his sister Marian Canzonere; several close cousins: Pete Cupito, Madeline Love, Juanita Cottle, and Phyllis Corbett; as well as many other extended family members and in-laws.

George leaves behind his wife Rose; sons Bill (Claudia), George (Anna), and Anthony; two daughters Kathy (Mike) and Lisa; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; his brother Chris DeLisio; sisters Margaret Cardello and Elizabeth Atkinson; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

George's humor will be missed by all.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 5, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
