Obituary

George Mathew Stabile of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021, at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 28 at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday, May 29 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, KCMO. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Raytown, MO.

George was born November 1, 1934, on All Saints Day in Kansas City, Missouri, to Mateo and Jennie Stabile. George often said he was happy that  his birthday was on a Holy Day because he always got the day off from school. George graduated from Northeast High School in 1952. He enlisted in the army and, after his discharge, began his successful career as a hairdresser and salon owner.  He retired in 2017. In 1979, George met Ken Howell, the love of his life. Together they traveled extensively and created a wonderful life full of love, laughter and good times with family, friends and their two pets Cotton and Tootsie. George was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. As a baby boy with five sisters, people would often assume he was surely spoiled. His standard reply would be "Maybe, but in a good way".

George was preceded in death by his parents Mateo and Jennie (Colletta) Stabile; his sisters Edith Pisciotta (Sam),  Pauline Stabile, Mary Reddis (Salvatore), Conjetta Caruso (Paul), Jeanette Caponetto (Phil); his nephew Matthew Pisciotta; and great-nephew Sam Joseph Pisciotta. He leaves behind his devoted husband Ken; his nephews and nieces - who worshiped him as much as he worshiped them - Frank Pisciotta (Teresa), John M. Reddis, Linda Jones (Ted), Phil Caponetto (Debbie), Victor Caruso (Anna), Jeanine Caponetto (Lisa), Jeanine Bahmani-Turner (Paul), Patricia Fasone (Joe), Ross Caponetto (Sherri); and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Frank Pisciotta, Jr., Ross Caponetto, Joe Fasone, Vito Pisciotta, John Pisciotta and Tony George Pisciotta.

Uncle George will be missed and he leaves a huge void in our lives.  He is the last of the Stabile siblings and was loved by everyone.
