Geraldine
Quarrato
Jun 21, 1937 — Jun 8, 2024
Geraldine "Gerry" Quarrato was born to Carlo and Jennie (Belfonte) Quarrato on June 21, 1937. She passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at the age of 86.
Geraldine attended Holy Rosary grade school, graduated from Northeast High School and was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Parish. For all but a short amount of time, she was a resident of Columbus Park's North End neighborhood and still resided at the family's home on Missouri Avenue.
Geraldine had a long career at Bayer (Mobay) where she eventually retired. Geraldine served as a board member for the Daughters of Columbus for several years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, playing bocce at the American Sons of Columbus Hall and even traveling for tournaments, playing cards with her dear friends, and spending time with her adoring family. Geraldine was known for her famous tacos, love of Margaritas on the Boulevard and Barry Manilow, bringing plenty of puff popcorn to family gatherings, humorously disciplining her nieces and nephews, and offering plenty of sweets to her great nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Sal Cilia, brother-in-law Marco Filardo, and "baby" brother and sister-in-law Michael and Antoinette Quarrato. She is survived by her dear sister Jacqueline Filardo, and loving nieces and nephews Mary Ellen and Dale Fisher, Joseph and Jo Filardo, Carl and Pam Filardo, JoAnne and Clint Duncan, John and Anita Filardo, Angelo and Mark (Para) Cilia, Carl and Sara Quarrato, Jennifer and Jefferson Davis, and Kathleen and Jeffrey Wessinger. She is also survived by 22 great-nieces and nephews and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Geraldine will be dearly missed by all who loved her, but we are thankful for the memories she left us of her fun spirit. Her legacy will live on!
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.
