Geraldine Risalvato-Sciara, 74, passed away July 10, 2018. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Geraldine was born September 1, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Joseph and Florence (Trombino) Risalvato. She lived at the Lake of the Ozarks for several years and enjoyed cooking and baking for others, playing cards and visiting the local casinos, and loved her dog Neco.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta and Cecelia. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Salvatore Sciara; her children, Joe Sciara, Salvatore Sciara, Florence Sciara-Simpson (David); grandchildren, Sal Joe, Charlie, Tommy, Eva, and Dean Sciara, Frankie, Joanna, and Sal Pisciotta; son-in-law, Louie Pisciotta; daughters-in-law, Gina Sciara and Jackie Sciara; sister, Katherine Gimmarro (Paul); brothers, John Risalvato (Patti), Salvatore Risalvato; aunt, Theresa Occhipinti; nephews and nieces, Carlo Gimmarro (Jennifer), Joe Gimmarro (Stephanie), Gerry Lamanno (Mark), John Lutgen (Stacey), Rachel Flaggard (Phil); and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and family members.
