Gusteno "Gus" Santamaria, 29, Independence, MO, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 8, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at New Salem Cemetery, 1823 N. Blue Mills Rd., Independence, MO 64058.

Gus was born April 23, 1984, in Independence, MO, to Gus and Juanita (Galvin) Santamaria. He attended Raytown High School and worked for Highline Auto Sport. He was an expert mechanic who enjoyed fast cars. Gus was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandmothers, Mildred Santamaria and Esther Galvin.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Natalie and Justin Parsons, Danielle and Tab White; fiancée, Jennifer Mueller; nephews, Justin and Koltin Parsons; and niece, Alexis Santamaria.

Gus was a very loving and giving person. He was a great uncle to his niece and nephews.
