Harry James
Defeo
Feb 5, 1949 — Sep 26, 2023
Harry James DeFeo, 74, passed away peacefully at home on September 26th, 2023, with his wife and children by his side.
Harry was born and raised in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri and attended Northeast High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserve and completed camp in Texas. He continued his career in the family businesses, DeFeo Fruit Company and Original DeFeo Produce in the City Market. He then went on to own Palermo and Cascio Produce Company in North Kansas City. Even during his retirement years, he continued to do what he loved most and sold produce at various farmer's markets including Swap and Shop.
Harry enjoyed spending his days playing golf with his buddies and trying out new lunch spots with his brother Nick. He loved celebrating holidays with his family and the door was always open to many friends. He was always watching football, especially the Chiefs, all kinds of sports and Fox News. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his two grandchildren, Farah and Amir. He would take them and buy them anything and everything they ever asked for. He spoiled them, and they always loved to spend time with their Papa. He is now their Guardian Angel watching over them from above.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marianne DeFeo (Russo). He is survived by his loving wife Linda of 44 years, his children, Marianna DeFeo (Sammy Albadri), Frank (Rocky) DeFeo, his grandchildren Farah and Amir Albadri. He is also survived by his brother Nick DeFeo (Anna) and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
The DeFeo family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Joe Cali, Casey Mast, and Margo DeFeo Walker for their unwavering support to our family in this difficult time. We would also like to acknowledge the extraordinary care that Harry received at St. Luke's Hospital Plaza Neuro Oncology floor and St. Luke's Hospice.
Services will be Tuesday, October 3, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
