Helen Saragusa, 85, passed away on February 20, 2016, at North Kansas City Hospital, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 25, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Helen lived a wonderful life with her loving daughter and best friend Vita and son-in-law Anthony for the past 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dodie Hanks; all of her sisters and brothers; her husband, Michael J. Saragusa; and her son, George Michael Warkins.
Survivors include daughter Vita Saragusa-Maggio and son-in-law Anthony Maggio; son and daughter Sam and Chris Silvey; daughter and son-in-law Connie Saragusa-Jiabia (Frank); grandchildren: Amy Bax (Jeff), Tonimarie Helen Maggio, Joseph Michael Maggio, Carl Maggio (Brittnee), Jim Jiabia (Erin), Carl Jiabia, Mike Jiabia (Terra); great-grandchildren: Sophia, Isabella, and Samuel Bax, Sophia, Frank, Joey Jiabia, Jocina, Anthony and Veta Maggio.
Pallbearers: Jeff Bax, Joseph Maggio, Carl Maggio, Adrian Lang, Kevin Chrisman, Nic Combs, Chris Steadman, Mike Nigro.
