Ida Marie Quatrochi, 99, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Ida was born in Kansas City, MO, on January 23, 1920, to Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Wendt) Snyder. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Mike; her parents; two brothers, Frank and Edward Snyder; and an infant grand-daughter, Kristine Quatrochi.
Ida is survived by her children, Pete (Dian) of Boulder, CO, Rose Mary Mathis (Ronald) of Valdosta, GA, Saletta Shuman (Pat) and Nick (Mary) of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Philip Quatrochi (Ali Walton), Nick Quatrochi (Danielle), Kelly Mathis Williams (Josh), Shannan Mathis Troncoso, Matthew Shuman (Lynsey), Jonah Shuman, Joseph Quatrochi (Brittany), and Kyle Quatrochi (Kelli Goessling); seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Quatrocky (Bobbie) of Blue Springs, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Ida attended Jane Hayes Gates Institute where she acquired sewing skills, and later worked as a seamstress at the Donnelly Garment Company in the Kansas City Historic Garment District. Ida married Mike Quatrochi on October 5, 1940, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kansas City MO. She was devoted to her husband and family. Ida also had multiple responsibility helping her husband Mike run Quatrochi Produce. She particularly liked cooking her Italian specialties. There was always a pot of sugo and meat balls for Sunday dinner. Ida's "Green Thumb" knew no rival. She loved tending her flowers.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, followed by Graveside Services at Resurrection Mausoleum, Kansas City North. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ascend Hospice, 4550 W 109th St., #210, Overland Park, KS 66207.
