Mike Quatrochi, 99, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, just one month shy of his 100th birthday.

Mike was born in Kansas City, MO on August 27, 1916 to Saletta Marie (Villacci) and Peter Quatrocky. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Evinger; brothers, Joseph and Nicholas; and an infant granddaughter, Kristine Quatrochi.

Mike is survived by his wife of 75 years, Ida Marie (Snyder) Quatrochi; his children: Pete (Dian) of Boulder, CO, Rose Mary (Ronald) Mathis of Valdosta, GA, Saletta (Pat) Shuman, and Nick (Mary) of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Bobbie) Quatrocky of Independence, MO; brother-in-law, Earl Evinger of Knoxville, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Owner of Quatrochi Produce, founded in 1947, he provided wholesale produce to schools, restaurants and stores in Kansas City, KS before retiring in 2000. He was a devoted family man and loved Ida's wonderful cooking. His summers were filled with coaching many winning baseball seasons with Bill Woods Ford American Legion and Feld Chevrolet Ban Johnson teams for 20 plus years. He was one of the original founders of what later became the NKCA Baseball League. Winters were occupied with quail hunting with his hunting buddies and his beloved dogs.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Resurrection Mausoleum, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr., Kansas City, MO 64156. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the NKCA Baseball League, PO Box 34727, North Kansas City, MO 64116.
