Isabella Liberto Patnett, 64, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 1, 2024.  The Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m., followed by a Visitation from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 6, at Passantino Bros. Funeral home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64124.  The Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, Missouri 64119.  Entombment will occur at Resurrection Mausoleum.

Isabella was born on September 6, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri to John and Rosa Liberto.  She grew up in Kansas City and was a proud graduate of Northeast High School, class of 1978.  Isabella worked at several places, including Western Auto, Kansas City Osteopathic Hospital, and Sears Service Center.  Isabella prided herself in looking her best every day, earning the nickname "Miss Glamorous" by her peers at Sears Service Center.  However, the work that meant the most to Isabella was working at her brothers', Salvatore and Rosario, restaurant, Giovanni's Italian Deli and Pasta in Gladstone, Missouri.  She was an intricate part of her brothers' restaurant by helping to make the lasagna. She enjoyed this immensely, as she was able to work alongside her mother, father, and aunt Carmeline Franco.

Isabella's greatest joy in life was being a daughter, sister, mother and nana.  Isabella loved her family above all.  She enjoyed raising her two daughters, Celita and Rosa Marie.  Her daughters were her world.  What made life even better was when she became a nana.  She would spoil her grandchildren whenever she had a chance.  Isabella loved her siblings and spent countless hours with them, enjoying life, laughing and reminiscing about their childhood.  Isabella also adored her parents.  She paid this love forward by being a primary caregiver as they aged.  This included accompanying them on their doctor appointments and making daily trips to their home to help in any way she could.

Isabella's favorite day of the week was Sunday, when the family would come together.  The gatherings were focused on a good meal and an occasional game of Left-Right-Center. Isabella loved playing the game with her family and cheered loudly when any of her kids or grandchildren won.  Sundays were especially great when she was able to watch her favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.  She enjoyed cheering alongside her brother, Salvatore, as they often watched the Chiefs together.  Isabella was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved collecting his memorabilia.

Isabella inherited a green thumb from her father, and she enjoyed her flowers, especially the white orchid.  She enjoyed summertime, devoting time outside by tending to her flowers and soaking up the sun.  Isabella loved being tan and took any opportunity she could to get a nice tan.

Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa Liberto, and her grandson, Joe Mike Bonacorso.

Isabella is survived by her children: Celita Garcia (Carl Joseph), Rosa Marie Patnett; her grandchildren: Rosaria (Mike), Isabella, Lily-Ana, and Sofia.  Isabella also leaves behind several siblings: Salvatore, Frank (Cathy), Joseph, Nancy, Vincent (Tammy), and Rosario (Amber); and several nieces/nephews: John Phillip (Savina), Mary-Catherine (Chad), Rosario, Johnny Joe, Milena, Tommy, Lukas, and Francesco.

The Liberto family would like to thank everyone who visited Isabella while she was hospitalized.  The family has special gratitude for Fr. Eric Schneider for visiting Isabella in her final days and bringing her and the family comfort during this difficult time.  In addition, the Liberto family would like to thank Northland DaVita Dialysis Center for providing Isabella with excellent care and support over the last year and a half.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for I am free.  I'm following the path God laid for me.  I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.  I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work, or to play.  Tasks left undone must stay that way… I found that peace at the close of the day.  If my parting has left a void then fill it with remembered joy.  A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things, I too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.  My life's been full, I've savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.  Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me. God wanted me now, He has set me free.
