Isidore "Izzy"
Spino
Jul 23, 1956 — Feb 11, 2019
Isidore "Izzy" Spino, 62 received everlasting life on February 11, 2019. After a short battle with cancer (he was beating it) Izzy's big heart gave out (heart attack). Even though he was winning the battle he lost the war. In the midst of life's challenges Izzy always held his head high. He carried on his mother's trademark smile that has touched many lives.
Izzy was born on July 23, 1956 in Kansas City, MO, to Joseph Nazio Spino and Marie Elizabeth Pepe. He was the oldest of three children. He worked at Spino's Grill, Tiger's Records, and Chubby's. He also owned Crazy's Discount Records.
The day before he passed, Izzy enjoyed visiting with longtime friends and family at a fundraiser given by his childhood friends who rallied to support him as soon as they heard he was sick. His heart was full; he was so thankful and overwhelmed by the turnout as he indicated at his fundraiser.
His greatest love was for his three children. They were his pride and joy, and he wanted all the best for them. Some of their fondest memories together were day trips to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, simply spending quality time together as a family. He is survived by his children, Joe, Lilliana (Ana), and Jenny Marie (Re); and their mother, Jennifer Chisholm. He also leaves behind two sisters, Jeanne Morgan and Mary Jo Spino; nieces and nephew, Michaela Buckley (Phillip), Alexandria Dreiser (Alexander), Nico Brogoto (Jennifer); great-nieces and nephews, Paul, Simon and Mariannina Buckley, and Joey Brogoto coming in May.
The Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and end with a Rosary led by Fr. Vincent Rogers at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eric Schneider at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Inurnment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions for his children are suggested to the Spino Family Trust.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, visits and support in many heartfelt forms from family and friends, too many to name individually.
