Jack Jax Morlan unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 13 months of age. He leaves behind his parents Teresa and Nick Morlan, his brothers Oliver (10) and Henry(4) Morlan. His grandparents Pam and Tony Morlan. His Great Grandparents, Alice and Merlin Williams and Pat Smith. His Godparents Cathy and Luke Willenbring, along with a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jack was born with Trisomy 21- commonly known as Down Syndrome.As is common with this diagnosis he had multiple heart defects which caused secondary health concerns making him a medically complex child. When Jack was 2 months old he had several cardiac crisis events which ended in him having emergency heart surgery. This was so hard on such a little body. We lost Jack for 24 minutes the following day. Jack fought back. Our miracle boy had no brain damage, no organ damage, he was simply perfect. Through God, that surgery gave us 10 more months with our sweet boy.

In those 10 months Jack spent every day with his family. He got to enjoy ordinary daily life. The simple pleasures of being outside, going to the park, just being together with his mom, dad, and brothers. Jack also had special experiences when he went on vacation- getting to fly on an airplane, soaking in the sun and relaxing in the lazy river. He got to spend every holiday and birthday together with those he loved. Jack rode on the carousel, was amazed in the arcade, and saw the animals at the zoo.

Jack was the happiest child. He had mastered rolling around- mostly to follow his brothers or get to his favorite toys. He had started standing using his medical equipment and loved being pushed around in it chasing after Oliver and Henry to play tag. Jack loved music and a good dance party. He would smile, giggle and clap anytime music was playing. Jack loved trying foods with lots of flavor and disliked peas all together.

Jack had so many favorites but most of all was his mama. From the moment he came into the world he looked at his Mama like she was a fairy princess. Jack was obsessed with mama and if momma wasn't around, watch out because he would let you know. Jack's first word was of course Mama and let me tell you, I Dad was not at all jealous, not even a little bit…..well, I mean maybe a little tiny bit, but not very much at all. In all seriousness though the look Jack gave his Mama will forever be engraved in my heart because it didn't matter that you or I weren't the one being stared at. All that mattered was when you saw that look it could fix anything, it would make everything better and it would restore all faith in one split second, like the true miracle that he was. Unconditional True Love, is what his eyes said to his mama! Which is understandable because his Mama was there for him all day everyday for all his special cares, countless doctors appointments, and never ending PT to work on.  She allowed nothing else but the absolute best for him.

God Winks are what our family calls moments in time when you know God had his hand in what was happening. Some are big and some are small. Throughout Jack's time on Earth, we experienced so many of these God Winks that we have come to believe that Jack was truly a miracle, given to us for a short time for Great reasons by God. Although we are not sure how far his impact will go- we are sure that he has touched so many lives, deepened faith for so many and brought together so many strangers who we now call friends.

Jack taught us so much in the 13 short months he was here on earth with us. Now it's Jack's time to watch and smile over us from heaven while we pass on his legacy until we are together again. We love you so much Jack and are so grateful for the time we spent with you on Earth.

Services will held on Friday, September 20, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Everyone please wear GREEN - Jack's color.
