Jacqueline "Jackie" Valdepena passed away at age 55 on August 22, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City MO 64124.

Jackie left behind a daughter, Michelle Burkett; mother, Carol Gruenwald; father, Edward Crystal; brother, David Crystal; nephews, Kyle Crystal and Kolton Crystal; and her niece, Karley Crystal. She also left behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who cared for her.  She was a long-time employee at Corner Cafe, and they were her second family. They meant a lot to her and we know she was loved by many there.

Jackie graduated North Kansas City High School in 1982 and later earned a computer programming degree at Vatterott College. She had a big heart and cared deeply for her loved ones around her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to KC Pet Project to help their mission to end pet homelessness in Kansas City.
