James "Jimmy" Arredondo, age 67 passed away peacefully at his home in Kansas City, Missouri on January 13, 2025. Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 5, 1958, he is a graduate of University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School. He is famously known for his love of law, politics, and all Michigan sports teams (excluding the Detroit Lions because they repeatedly let him down.) Most recently, his favorite love was his best friend and canine companion, Cina.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Carmen (maiden name "Martinez") and Savino Arredondo, brother, Edmund Martinez, sister, Marilyn Welsh (spouse Perry Welsh), and nephew, Christopher Golembiewski.
He is survived by his siblings: Katherine Arredondo, Jacquelyn Arredondo, Savino "Kip" Arredondo, Christine Arredondo (spouse Rich Kummerle), Patricia Arredondo, and Margaret Forbush (spouse Dennis Forbush). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Tony Go (spouse Kathleen Baker), Jodie Golembiewski, Kimberley Gale (spouse Michael Baranofsky), Stephanie Windeler (spouse Adam Windeler), Suzy Kalin (spouse Jeffrey Kalin), Peter Dovey, Ryan Kummerle and Jonathan Forbush.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 15, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Blue Line Hockey Bar at 529 Walnut Street, Kansas City, Missouri. No flowers or donations are requested.
