James L. "Jimmy" DiCapo, 66, passed away September 19, 2018. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 27 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119, where the Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 p.m. Contributions are suggested to family in care of the Funeral Home
Jimmy was born August 25, 1952, in Independence, MO, to the late Vito and Betty DiCapo, and was a 1970 graduate of Northeast High School where he was a debater and was scouted by the Royals. He was and entrepreneur and was former co-owner of Chubby's. Jimmy was an avid golfer, Royals and Chiefs fan and, most of all, was a "stand-up guy" who was loyal to his family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Joe. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shannon (Kimberlin) DiCapo; his children, Mary Beth Cooper (Tyler), James "Jimbo" DiCapo, William DiCapo, Molly Kimberlin; his grandchildren, Anthony, James, Kaeyden, Landyn, and Bella Rae; his siblings, Patty Nigro (George) and Victor DiCapo (Julie); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Jaretta Kimberlin, Larry and Barbara Murphy, Kirk and Jenny Foster; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
