James Albert Hoffman, 79, passed away April 29, 2021. A celebration of his life will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124.

Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 6, 1941. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retiring as a Sergeant First Class.

Jim was preceded in death by his sons James Jr. and Jon Joseph, and his grandsons James and Frankie. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Donna Hoffman; his children Elizabeth "Liz" Roberts (George) and Douglas Hoffman (Stacy); multiple adopted children; his grandchildren Amanda Caldwell (David), Heather McKinney (Kyle), Johnathan Hoffman (Talesha), Michael Hoffman, and T.J. Hoffman; his great-grandchildren Damien, Jasmine, Estelle, Malakai, Ephraim, David, Brayden, Kash, Kaydence, Gatlin, and one on the way; and his great-great-grandchildren Zendaya and Ava Mae.
