James H. Meyer was born October 2, 1952 and was affectionately known to family and friends as "Botee". He passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 25, 2020.

He is loved and missed by his faithful friend, Diane Reuscher; his stepchildren, Tonia Barlow (loving and devoted caregiver), Edward Reuscher, Sarah Dennis, Steven Henneberg, and Cyndee Schmidt (little one); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, John Meyer (Sharon), Jeffrey Meyer (Melinda - deceased), Jerome Meyer, and Joseph Meyer (Angela); nieces and nephews, Daniel Meyer, Timothy Meyer, Glenda Sciara, Brandi Lynchard, Robert Lowrance, Heather Meyer, Tamara Meyer, Stephen Lewis, Jessica Stamm, Janelle Howell, Wesley Howell, and Ella Meyer; many great-nieces and great-nephews; his favorite aunt, Joann Koska; many cousins; and longtime friend and "Brother Man", Perry Wing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jeanne Meyer; and sister, Janet Lewis.

Botee was a kind, caring and compassionate man.  He was passionate about his family, and tremendously enjoyed sharing birthdays, holidays, and special occasions.  He was a talented musician and composer.  His niche was reporting news and forecasting weather.  He used his gift of photography, knowledge of the subject material, and his passion for journalism to produce and publish excellent reads.  He could always be found video recording or photographing family events and those of his many interests.  He had a knack for voice imitations and could instantly create pieces of satirical comedy to make one laugh in order to "lighten the load" of a day or event, or simply make one smile.  He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.   He loved all animals.

Botee loved his Mother very much and spoke lengths of life as the eldest of six, and their shenanigans.  He had a very special relationship with his Father, and they could often be found watching old movies, Royals and Chiefs games, or talking together.   He was fond of KU basketball "back when they were good", he'd say.

Botee was a loving man, who strived for peace among the lives of all those whose hearts he touched.  It was a joy and privilege to know him and share his life.  He was loved in life and it shall always continue.
