Obituary

James "Mickey" Muschietty, age 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Mickey was born on December 16, 1948, in San Diego, California. He was a devoted husband to Debbie and a loving father to Dena, Anthony, and Jimmy. As a true role model, Mickey instilled in his family the values of hard work, integrity, and always doing the right thing. He had a unique ability to turn the ordinary into adventure, filling every day with laughter and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Mickey never met a stranger — he made everyone feel valued, welcomed, and loved. He proudly served in the United States Navy and dedicated his professional life to the Kansas City Fire Department, retiring with honor as Captain of Truck 10. He later shared his talents with the Law Firm of Jones and Granger.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Debbie (Ferrante) Muschietty; his children, Dena Muschietty, Anthony Muschietty, and James Muschietty; his grandchildren, JoeMike, Santina, Arabella, Evelina, Gemma, Lilliana, and AnnaMarie Muschietty; and his great-grandchildren, Ava and Lucas Muschietty. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra Palma (Frank), brothers-in-law Tom Ferrante (Theresa) and Vincent Ferrante, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, James Muschietty and Virginia June Muschietty.

The individuals honored to serve as pallbearers are Vince Ferrante, Tommy Ferrante, Michael Ferrante, Curtis Summer, Frank Palma and Chance Lloyd.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Anthony Mange, Victor Ferrara, Gruby Nigro, Bob Huggins, Gary Bisbee, Joe Mike Sola, Jimmy Calcara, Phillip Morrale, Butch Spino and Joe Cutrera.
