Heaven has gained one of the kindest souls.  Janice S. Caruso (Jan), 68, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Kansas City Hospice House on April 30, 2017. A colorful celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, at 4:00pm at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.

Jan was born on October 3, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Marjorie M. & Chester C. Saddler.  She is survived by her son, Stephen P. Caruso, daughter and son-in-law Susan & Reid Hewlitt and treasured granddaughter Cicily Bea as well as her beloved nephews and extended family members and the many dear friends, colleagues and clients she adored. People were her greatest love and her remarkable ability to create friendships was with her even at the end of her life.

Jan's life passion was making others feel their best. She was a hair stylist for over 35 years first at The Hawk's Nest which later became Michael Shae Salon and Day Spa. Her passion for hair and hair color led her to teach the craft and mentor many in the industry.  Jan was the first American Board Certified Hair Colorist in Kansas and Missouri and never lost her passion for learning and educating.
