Jasper "Jay" Mirabile, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 19, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Please omit flowers.
Jasper was born March 26, 1932 in Shreveport, LA to Anthony and Sarah (Brocato) Mirabile. He married Jacqueline Belfonte on October 24, 1953. Jasper was a graduate of De La Salle High School and pursued a career in the grocery business starting as general manager of Cascio Food Mart in Independence, MO and eventually owning Roberts Market on Truman Road and Uncle Charlie's Market on St. John Ave. He was a Korean War veteran and received an Honorable Discharge in November of 1954.
Jasper was preceded in death by his son, John Mirabile, and his parents.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline, who stood by his side through multiple illnesses; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Elizabeth; his grandson, Jasper; his granddaughter, Sarah; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sal and Lillian Belfonte; and many loving family and friends.
