Obituary

Jean Marie (Conwell) Anello, 58, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1001 E. 52nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64110, with Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. A private burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Parish; or Wayside Waifs.

Jean was born in Kansas City, MO, on January 23, 1958, to Charles and Patricia Conwell. Jean attended St. Francis Xavier Grade School and later graduated from St. Teresa's Academy. During and shortly after graduating, Jean cared for Jessica, Emily, and Elizabeth Dittmeier, children of Bill and Georgia Dittmeier. Jean met and married Louis Anello on February 10, 1979. They were married for 37 years.

Jean and Louis raised their three children in Lee's Summit, MO, where she was a stay at home mom until she started work at Medical Plaza Consultants, Carondelet Orthopedic, and Raintree Pediatrics.

Along with her passion for taking care of her family, she enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners. Jean also made dozens of varieties of Italian wedding cookies for family along with making them for other families to enjoy. Jean and Louis enjoyed many trips together including cruises in the Caribbean and the Pacific Coast. Together, they also volunteered their time at St. Francis Xavier Church.

Jean was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Lillian Conwell, and John and Gladys Hogan. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Louis A. Anello; children, Stephanie Swalley and husband Zach, and their children, David and Ryan; Vincent Anello and wife Sheena, and their children, Samuel and Annabelle; Christopher Anello and Jessica Sigman; her parents Charles and Patricia Conwell; siblings, Thomas Conwell and wife Joy, JoAnn Wittmeyer and husband Al, Chuck Conwell and wife Shawn, Theresa Fiala and husband Mike; father-in-law, Anthony Anello; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Markel, Anita Delaney, Rose Ann Ridinger, Nazio and Julie Anello, Joseph and Janell Anello; and numerous nieces and nephews.
