It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of one of our cherished members of the American Daughters of Columbus, Georgia Jean (Sola) Ruffolo, who passed away on January 11, 2025.

She leaves behind her daughter Maria Jean Moore; grandchildren Taylor Moore (Betsey), and Michael Moore (Stacey); great-grandchildren Giuliana and Thomas Gibson, Lillian, Sienna and Benedict; sisters Lucille Amaro and Minnie Scardino (Jay); brother George Sola (Rama); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Ruffolo; brother Notzie Rotolo; sister Ann Mangiaracina; sister-in-law Vita Rotolo; and brothers-in-law Anthony "PeeWee" Amaro and George Mangiaracina.

Jean was a longstanding member of the American Daughters of Columbus, where she was active with the women's bocce league and served as an officer and board member. She was always happy to share her knowledge and taught many of our current members the art of bocce. Her passions were bowling, the boat, and bocce. At home she enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, KU basketball and the Chiefs. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and remembered as one of the sweetest ladies who had such a giving heart.

Services will be held on Friday, January 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Holy Rosary Parish; St. Luke's Hospice; Happy Bottoms; or Newhouse Women's Shelter.
