Jeanne was welcomed into the world on May 9, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri to Joe and Nadine LaBella. She attended Gladstone Elementary, Northeast Junior High, and was a 1973 graduate of Northeast High School. After high school, Jeanne worked at Commonwealth Theaters and in 1974 began a lifelong career with Hallmark Cards. She started in the research and development department and worked there for six years. She worked as a bank teller at Boatman's Bank from 1980-81. After humbly raising her two daughters for 12 years, Jeanne returned to Hallmark by working at Rene's Hallmark in North Kansas City, Missouri, for several years and as a corporate retail merchandiser from 1998 until her retirement in 2015. She also worked at Sam's Club for several years as a pharmacy technician.
Jeanne met the love of her life, Mark Misenhelter, on May 27th, 1976, and they were married on May 28th, 1977, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. They spent 45 wonderful years together enjoying so many activities. First and foremost, Jeanne was full of spirit and extremely proud of her family. She was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Michelle and Jodi, and took tremendous pride in their accomplishments. As an only child, Jeanne was extremely devoted to her mother and father and took tremendous care of both throughout their lifetime. Jeanne loved to travel with her family and visited many places over the years with California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada and the Cayman Islands being her favorite destinations. She also enjoyed visiting the casinos, spending time with her granddogs, and proudly displaying her Dodge Charger at car shows.
Jeanne was preceded in death by both of her parents, Joe and Nadine LaBella, childhood dog Boots, granddog Pepper Joe, Uncles Carlo LaBella (Nancy-deceased), Frank LaBella and Aunt Frances Monteleone (Frank-deceased). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Mark, daughters Michelle and Jodi, granddog Winston Brady, and several close family members including-but-not-limited-to JoAnn Walkenhorst and family, Jay Montaleone and Nancy, Marguerite O'Gara and family, Debbie Kern, Renee Diaz, Jacquelyn Schworer, and Dr. Michael E. Gorton.
Mark, Michelle, and especially Jodi offer their deepest gratitude to Liberty Hospital ED & ICU, Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City's Administration & Leadership Team, SLH Perianesthesia, SLH Neuro OR, SLH NSICU and Kansas City Hospice House for their superb care of Jeanne, our beloved wife and mother at the end of her journey.
