Jennie J. Mendolia, 89, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2012. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Thomas More Church or a charity of your choice.

Jennie, the daughter of Joe and Carmela Ross, was born and raised in Kansas City. She attended Jane Hayes Gates School where she made lifelong friends. Upon graduation Jennie worked at The Federal Reserve Bank. She then met the love of her life, Frank Mendolia, and was happily married for 64 years. She dedicated her life to family and friends. Jennie was a charter member of St. Thomas More Parish, a member of Societa Ragusa Americana, and was a former member of the American Daughters of Columbus.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband Frank; her infant granddaughter; sister Rose Ross; brothers-in-law Jack Fiorella, Joe LeGrotte, Bill Mendolia; and nephew Mark LeGrotte.

She is survived by her sons, Frank and Paul (Nancy); grandchildren, Michael of Germany, Laura and Amy both of Hawaii; sisters, JoMarie LeGrotte and Vicki Fiorella; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at The Forum and Kansas City Hospice for their loving and compassionate care that they provided to Jennie.

Jennie's loving and caring spirit will be greatly missed.
