Obituary

Jerry Fayette Kelso, 79, Prairie Village, KS, was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on June 18, 2014.

Jerry was born March 31, 1935, to James and Geneva Kelso of Crestline, OH, where he grew up. He joined the Air Force and served as a radio operator. He transferred to Prairie Village, KS, in 1970 where he continued his career in steel sales for 40 years until he retired at age 64. Jerry was an avid softball player, playing into his 70's. He also loved theatre and was a member of the senior barn players. As a City Councilman for Prairie Village he served his community. Jerry also coached little league and 3&2 baseball teams. He was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Other activities included Indian Guides leader, Sunday School teacher, and member of B.P.O.E. for 35 years. Jerry was known for his positive attitude and great sense of humor.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Patricia Ann Kelso; and brothers, Jim and Jack Kelso.

Surviving him are his wife, Jeanine Lorraine Kelso; his children, Jerry A., Rick, and Susan Kelso; step-daughter, Angie Tush; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family offers a special thank you to the staff of Kansas City Hospice House for their care.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 23, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7851 W. 119th St., Overland Park, KS 66213. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House or Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Condolences may be offered at www.passantinobros.com.
