Gerald Lee Owen, "Jerry", was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 25th, 1939, to Lynn and Mary Catherine. He passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on December 7th, 2024, among family.

Jerry has been successful in many aspects of his life. Although he had a 30+ year career with the gas company, his greatest achievements were his personal ones. Jerry was a proud military veteran who was active with several charitable organizations. He was an avid golfer who made a hole-in-one and was a multinational fisherman with mounted fishing trophies. Jerry valued honesty and had deep rooted Catholic beliefs. He often volunteered with the church.

Jerry will be remembered as someone who was able to imprint on the lives of everyone who met him. He was always the largest person in the room and best friend to many. He also had a never-ending heart as a husband to his loving wife Kathy, as a father to Susie, Allison, Paula, Jamie, Trish, John and Steve, and as a "Popo" to 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary and Memorial Service at 5:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Mary's Outreach Food Pantry or the Bishop Sullivan Center .
