Jerry Cleo Todd, 70, succumbed peacefully to his battle with cancer on November 6, 2015, while resting at home. Friends and family are invited to gather at a dinner commemorating Jerry's life on Thursday, November 12, at 2:00 PM at Church on the Rock Outreach Center, 1700 SW Market St., Lee's Summit, MO 64082.
Jerry was born in Kansas City, MO, on November 15, 1944, and spent most of his life in the metropolitan area. An entrepreneur at heart, Jerry was able to combine his interest in automobiles and his business acumen by owning and operating several auto repair businesses over a span of twenty-five years. Always loyal to family, Jerry frequently incorporated family members into these endeavors.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lula Todd; two brothers, Bob and Jim; and a sister Marjorie. He is mourned by a remaining brother Jess; a son, Charlie; and three daughters, Kim, Carolyn and Jennifer. Jerry will also be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Nothing brought him more delight than to spend time with this youngest group of his family, as well as any other children who crossed his path. He was always quick to offer help whether it was to babysit one of the children, to provide a ride to school, or just to offer his porch as shelter for the neighborhood children waiting for the bus. His presence in the family and neighborhood will be sorely missed.
