Jimmy G. DePlasita, Sr., 90, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Benton House of Tiffany Springs surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st Terr., Kansas City, MO 64133, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or St. Bernadette Parish.

Jimmy was born April 4, 1925, in Kansas City, MO, to Frank and Rose (Gambino) DePlasita. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was honorably discharged on May 7, 1946. On June 15, 1946, he married his beloved wife Mary of 67 years. He was a retired tile setter and enjoyed bowling, visiting the local casinos and most of all spending time with his family. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary H. DePlasita; and sisters, Anna Favoroso and Virginia Fontana.

Survivors include his children, Frank DePlasita (Norma), Mary Rose Carolla (Sam), Jim DePlasita, Jr. (Tina); grandchildren, Charlie, Mary Kay (Jerry Murdock), and Joseph Carolla, Christina DePlasita; sister, Rose Bruscato; sister-in-law, Nancy Rove; and many nieces and nephews.

The family offers a special thank you to the staffs of Benton House of Tiffany Springs and Crossroads Hospice for the exceptional care given to Jimmy.
