Josephine Marie Rockford, Jo Marie to everyone, age 76, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 1st, 2021.  She was celebrated during a private Mass Saturday, February 6th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with her immediate family.

Jo Marie was born January 27th, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her father Sam Taibi, and mother Margaret Taibi.  She leaves behind her husband Lonnie Rockford and their three children Louis and wife Kimberly Rockford, Jeanine and husband Scott Haistings, and Sam and wife Melissa Rockford.  She also leaves behind six grandchildren Samantha Haistings, Marisa Rockford, Sydney Haistings, Maggie Rockford, Sammy Rockford, and Joe Mike Rockford.  She is also survived by her brother Sam and wife Sandy Taibi, and brother Carl Taibi; brothers-in-law Louie Rockford, and Marion and wife Stacey Rockford; and sister-in-law Lou Ann and husband Frank Giamalva. She was blessed to have 13 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

Jo Marie was a loving and devoted wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and second mom to so many.  There are not many people in Kansas City she did not touch.  Often referred to as the 'Captain' of her family, she took care of everyone and everyone's needs.  She was the person so many people counted on for advice and guidance.  Her love for family and traditional Italian cooking brought many into her home to feel her contagious laughter, joy, and love. She always saw the good in everyone and never knew a stranger.  Hours were spent playing cards, shopping, traveling, and baking.  She shared these simple pleasures with many friends, cousins, and family.  To say she will be missed by many is an understatement.

We don't just wish her peace, we wish her laughter, dancing, card playing, parties, and all the foods.
