Joan Rizzo, 103, passed away June 21, 2022.

Joan was born July 9, 1918, in Kansas City, MO, one of 11 girls of the late John and Anna (Bostein) Wisniewski. In her younger days she and her husband traveled and visited many places including Italy. She was a member of a bowling team for many years, enjoyed visiting the casinos, and loved the residents of Columbus Park Plaza where she played bingo weekly. Joan was very proud of her son Henry serving in the Missouri House of Representatives and Jackson County Legislature, and her grandson John Joseph serving in the Missouri State Senate.

Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Anthony Michael Rizzo; her in-laws Carl and Domenica Rizzo; and her sons Gregory and Frank Rizzo. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Henry and Silvia Rizzo, John Rizzo; daughter-in-law Teri Rizzo (Bill Pauley); grandsons Tony Mike Rizzo, Senator John Joseph Rizzo (Lindsey); and great-grandchildren Henry and Anthony Rizzo, Sofia and Ella Rizzo.

The family offers thanks to the staff of TMC Lakewood Long Term Care for taking such good care of her.
